Building management systems are critical for managing energy demand. Systems linked to building automation typically represent 40% of a building’s energy usage. This increases to 70% if lighting is included.

Your building management system can be used to control who is allowed through turnstiles and access doors. It can also be linked to security systems such as closed-circuit television (CCTV) and motion detectors.

Fire alarm systems and elevators can be linked to your building automation system. If a fire is detected, the system can close ventilation dampers and start smoke evacuation fans. It can park all elevators on the ground floor to prevent people from using them.

Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) is a software package that is fully customisable and can be used for remote, high-level supervision of various local control modules in a building automation system. Use SCADA for scheduled reports; trigger event or condition-based reports to track trends; or live notifications on event triggers or fault conditions.
